Meta Releases New AI for Text-to-3D Conversion

Meta has unveiled a new AI tool that will generate or retexture 3D objects in a minute. This tool has two of Meta’s existing models, AssetGen that can further form 3D objects and TextureGen for texturing. This will allow them to create higher-quality 3D generation for immersive content.

Furthermore, retexturing objects refers to applying details and relighting objects to make them appear hyper-realistic. AssetGen can create 3D objects with texture and Physical Rendering from a prompt within the first 30 seconds. TextureGen will optimize the texture of the generated object in the next 20 seconds. Users can provide additional textual inputs for retexturing those 3D shapes.

Meta states that the 3D Gen can create output that is 3 to 60 times faster than the output of professional artists. Even though, the Adobe Firefly and Midjourney have tools similar to 3D objects. Meta’s 3D Gen can create 3D models with the mesh structures supporting the physically based rendering. This indicates that these objects can be used in modeling and application rendering.
