Elon Musk’s Tesla introduces its second-gen humanoid robot Optimus at the AI conference
Tesla’s second-generation humanoid robot, Optimus was one of the American AI products displayed at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai this week. Tesla’s Gen2 Robot is showcased for the first time in China. Optimus will mainly focus on Tesla’neural network and computer vision tech and is viewed as the future multi-tasking machine. Therefore, it won’t interact with the visitors.
Furthermore, local exhibitors such as Fourier, Tlibot, and Leju Robot have also presented their humanoid creations with 18 robots on displays including the ‘’Healthy Loong’’ from Humanoid Robots(Shanghai). These robots explore applications in education, healthcare, and manufacturing in China. But, they are still in the early development and haven’t started the commercialization. It is expected to cost $70,000 and $100,000 per robot. Tesla’s Optimus is expected to cost lower which is around $30,000.
Through this Artificial Intelligence Conference, china will make great progress. Tesla’s Optimus will face further competition from homegrown innovations. China is planning to achieve the mass production of humanoid robots by 2025.
